“Oracle accquires SUN Microsystems for $7.8 billion”.

The Original Accusation
Sun had been suffering in past and was making every effort to make an accusation happen for it.  The Oracle-Sun deal came more than two weeks after I.B.M. ended its talks with SUN. I.B.M lowered its offer to $9.40 a share from $10 and Oracle bid was $9.50 a share.

MySql Goes to Sun and Sun Goes to Oracle

Oracles’ chief executive, said in a conference call Monday morning that Sun’s Java programming language and its Solaris operating system were the main attractions. But that might not be the case as Oracle was more intersted in MySql then any one else. In 2008 Sun Microsystem annouced a definitive agreement to acquire MySQL the worlds fastest growing open source databases for $1 billion. Which accelerated Sun’s position in enterprise IT to a $15 billion database market. Though many people looked at the accusation with a controversial eye stating that MySql could have had a bigger value then what SUN offered, Google, Yahoo & Microsoft could have paid much more. Create Multiple Inbox in gMail

Posted by zee on February 5th, 2009 Comment »

I do wonder what Google’s Gmail is evolving into few day back they released Gmail offline mode which we covered and today they have launched yet another lab’s edition ‘Gmail Multiple Inbox’. Which makes me wonder if gMail is evolving into a full scale business application.

As the name say’s Multiple Inbox does not give you ability to have Gmail inbox for seperate email accounts which we are using with Gmail, this was the first thing that came in to my mind. Though Multiple Inbox gives you ability to divide your inbox into portions and help you sort your email easily. Simply after installing Gmail Multiple Inbox you can go to setting and set up rules for the multiple inbox i.e. any mail that is marked with a star  ‘is:stared’ show it separately in you multiple inbox panel also you can configure where you want to place your multiple inbox i.e. on top , or on left or bottom.

So Multiple Inbox is the ability to divide your inbox into portions based on your own settings. A good feature to sort your mails but adding to many labs feature does give issues with performance, specially the initial loading of gMail is becoming problematic in Firefox.

YouTube Goes HD – High Defination Videos

Posted by Mark on January 29th, 2009 Comment »

YouTube announced officially of making videos available in High Definition. Well the demand of high defination has been around for ages, its quite annoying once you spend a ridiculous amount of bandwidth to stream a video and the quality turns out to be total turn off. So keeping that in view YouTube has taken an initiative to offer videos in HD now remember when you ask for more quality you have to pump in more bandwith and for me on a 1MB connection its was quite slow to stream in an HD video. A good example to test is to watch “Where the hell is Matt” or you can simple search on YouTube using HD as the keyword.

Earn Money by Searching the web

Posted by Mark on November 17th, 2008 Comment »

Dot be scared from the title its not a scam. Microsoft Corporation has launched a campaign called “SearchPerks” where you start earning tickets towards exciting prizes whenever you search the Web, oh did i mentione that the lines “whenever you search the web” actually means “whenever you search the web using Microsoft Live Search, on a Microsoft Windows using a Microsoft IE6 or above”.

So whats the fuss about, well SearchPerks is a short lived campaign by Microsoft where they are making an effort to study how the users use the search engine to search the web, sort of lab rat experiment that’s what i get out of it so far. (more…)

Google today announced a new feature of integrating your AdSense account with a new or existing Analytics account.
