what is the Big Bang Experiment & Its Results

Experiments using the underground Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, the biggest and most complex machine ever made, could revamp modern physics and unlock secrets about the universe and its origins.

What exactly is the big bang experiment

The big bang experiment is an attempt to look for a fine particle called Higgs Boson. The particle Higgs Boson or BEH Mechanism (sometimes called as “God Particle”), is a hypothetical massive scalar elementary particle predicted to exist by the standard model of particle physics but have not yet been observed. According to certain theories Higgs Boson was the element used in creation of Earth.

With the experiment the scientist will recreate the exact moment followed by the Big Bang that created the universe. No experiment has been conducted on this subatomic particle so far.

For the first time a large Hydron collider offers high energy levels at which it will be possible to understand how matter and energy were related to each other after the Big Bang. So, while the hypotheses were there, this is the first attempt to prove and disprove it. This is an incremental step to understand the truth and will not change the course of the world.

Where will it take place

The experiment is taking place in a 27-kilometer ring-shaped tunnel, which is placed 100 meters below the ground at the French-Swiss border. Scientists have designed the Large Hadron Collider or LHC to improve the sub-atomic particles to move at nearly the speed of light and then smash them together. Proton beams will travel in clock and anti-clock directions and will strike at each other.

The result & Purpose of the experiment

The main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics. It is theorized that the collider will confirm the existence of the Higgs boson, the observation of which could confirm the predictions and missing links in the Standard Model, and could explain how other elementary particles acquire properties such as mass.

The result will be in debris, in the form of new particles and radiation. By analysing the debris, scientists will try to find out the sign of the particle called Higgs Boson.
