YouTube Goes HD – High Defination Videos

Posted by Mark on January 29th, 2009 Comment »

YouTube announced officially of making videos available in High Definition. Well the demand of high defination has been around for ages, its quite annoying once you spend a ridiculous amount of bandwidth to stream a video and the quality turns out to be total turn off. So keeping that in view YouTube has taken an initiative to offer videos in HD now remember when you ask for more quality you have to pump in more bandwith and for me on a 1MB connection its was quite slow to stream in an HD video. A good example to test is to watch “Where the hell is Matt” or you can simple search on YouTube using HD as the keyword.

Posted by Carol on January 10th, 2009 Comment »

Google have recently launched Google Friend Connect an open for all web widget that adds social network features on your blog or website.

What is Google Friend Connect

In simple terms Google Friend Connect is a Website widget which you can get it for free from Friend Connect Page and add it to your website or blog. Google Friend Connect makes it easy for anyone to sign into any website and join up by share a little about themselves through personal profile, discover other people with similar interests and invite their contact to interact with friends.  So far Google Friend connect supports Google, Yahoo, AOL, or OpenID to sign in so its not necessary you have a Google ID. Being at its basic level the only two things Google Friend connect so far is the ability to join any site and also review the profile of others who have joined up. Its a start to a bigger ambition of Google indeed probably to convert the WWW to a one big social network. read more
