Internet services have been disrupted in large parts of the Middle East and India following damage to two undersea cables in the Mediterranean. There was disruption to 70% of the nationwide network in Egypt, and India suffered up to 60% disruption.UK firms such as British Airways have told the BBC that call centres have been affected by the outage. Industry experts said it could take up to one week to repair the damaged cables and resume full service.
according to bbc

The same thing happened in 2005 with Pakistan and the country lost access to internet for 12 day, causing a loss in billion, but India with a huge IT market could suffer real bad with this disruption. The chances of U.S going without internet is quite low,  and according to Martin Zook, editor of the Global IT Consultancy Report, the likelihood of undersea cable damage is low as U.S has approximately 35 cables linking to the international markets.
